About Us

I’ve been tattooing for over 22 years now. In that time, I’ve worked in a variety of studios before opening my own shop — The Kings Road Tattoo — with my business partner, Mark Wagstaff. We ran it together until 2021, when we made the decision to close. I kept the name and moved into a private studio, where I’ve been happily working ever since. It’s a relaxed, personal space — friendly, welcoming, and the kind of place where you can slow down and really enjoy the experience.

Japanese tattooing

Japanese tattooing has always been my biggest passion. I’ve been fascinated by it since I was around nine years old, when my older brother started bringing home tattoo magazines. I was instantly drawn in. There’s something powerful about the structure and flow of Japanese work — when it’s done right, it’s bold, lasting, and instantly recognisable. I love the way the background moves with the body — it’s a style that marries strength with fluidity, and it just stands out.

Traditional and Neo-Traditional

I also have a deep appreciation for Traditional and Neo-Traditional styles. I think they age better than most and have a timeless quality to them. Trends come and go, but these styles have stuck around for a reason — they’re the foundation of modern tattooing and still make an impact today.

Black and Grey Realism

While Japanese work is my main focus, I’ve always worked across a broad range of styles. Outside of Japanese traditional, I’m probably best known for my black and grey realism. But I also enjoy colour realism, watercolour, tribal, geometric, fine line — you name it. When I started out, you had to be able to do a bit of everything — specialising wasn’t really a thing. That mindset stuck with me, and I’m glad it did. It’s kept things fresh and helped me grow as an artist.
